Eurotherm was founded in 1965 as a temperature control manufacturer in Worthing, UK. Growth of the business was so rapid that three other companies had been formed as it expanded into other fields. In 1974, Chessell LTD., Turnbull Control Systems, and Shackleton System Drives where brought under a holding company, Eurotherm International.

In 1978 the company became publicly traded. In 1998 Eurotherm was acquired be Siebe plc. and then later became Invensys plc. which later then became Invensys Operational Management in 2009. Schneider Electric bought Invensys and Eurotherm products are now known as Eurotherm by Scheider Electric.
