Yaskawa Electric Corporation was founded in 1915 as a manufacturer of electric motors The company has continued to manufacture electric motors to this day while also expanding into motion control, robotics, system engineering, and information technology. Yaskawa was among the manufacturers in the Seventies and Eighties who had a part in the expansion of the servo industry and they still manufacture servo products under the Yaskawa name.

The Cup Motors are available with several customizable options; with gear reducers, a tachometer, an encoder, and magnetic brakes. They can also be given gaskets and oil seals for working environments where splashes of oil and water happen, but are not suited for environments where it is without an external shield.

It is advised to not use this type of motor in working conditions that contain corrosive liquids such as brine or in a place which explosive/flammable gases are prevalent. Yaskawa strongly suggest this motor be used indoors only.

The Cup Motors come in seven sizes to meet the needs of the customer who needs a low inertia motor. Their rated speed for is 1750 RPM and the motors listed below have a range of 2.167 N-m to 40.89 N-m of torque.

The 04 series has an instantaneous max RPM of 2900 while producing 112 kg-cm or torque. Rated for continuous duty at 67 V and 22.3 kg-cm.

UGCMED-08AA

The 04 series has an instantaneous max RPM of 2900 while producing 209 kg-cm or torque. Rated for continuous duty at 144 V and 41.7 kg-cm.

UGCMED-15AA

The 04 series has an instantaneous max RPM of 2900 while producing 418 kg-cm or torque. Rated for continuous duty at 158 V and 83.5 kg-cm.

UGCMED-22AA

The 04 series has an instantaneous max RPM of 2900 while producing 615 kg-cm or torque. Rated for continuous duty at 150 V and 123 kg-cm.

UGCMED-37AA

The 04 series has an instantaneous max RPM of 2900 while producing 1030 kg-cm or torque. Rated for continuous duty at 154 V and 206 kg-cm.

UGCMED-55AA

The 55 series has an instantaneous max RPM of 2100 while producing 918 kg-cm or torque. Rated for continuous duty at 201 V and 306 kg-cm.

UGCMED-75AA

The 75 series has an instantaneous max RPM of 2100 while producing 918 kg-cm or torque. Rated for continuous duty at 206 V and 417 kg-cm.

 

REPLACEMENT CAPABILITIES


 
 

Sometimes having an DC servo motor repaired is not the best option.

Extensive motor damage or unacceptable lead times, may make replacement options a more intelligent and economical choice. Servo Repair International provides various replacement options for many products. Older DC servo motors may be crossed over to newer products from Yaskawa or other competing manufacturers. We can also provide our own direct replacement DC servo motors as replacements. Many times just a simple feedback device crossover may be needed to increase turnaround time and better performance. We have the ability to build new motors to replace many Hi-Cup models.
