Indramat was a German manufacturer of industrial control equipment founded in 1958. The name Indramat is an abbreviation that comes from the words “INDustrialization, RAtionalization, and autoMATion.” Indramat manufactured and sold servo motor equipment through the Sixties and Seventies, offering AC servo motors as early as 1979. Over the years Indramat was acquired by Rexroth, then Mannesmann, and finally by Bosch in 2001. At that point the company became Bosch Rexroth and the Indramat brand was discontinued though many of the Indramat product lines continued under the Bosch or Rexroth names.
